Greetings from another planet.

I wanted to congratulate Angelo on his Grammy for production on King's of Leon, "Only by the Night". A Great record. Angelo and I co-wrote a good one titled, "Words" on my new one coming out We've known each other since back in the 70's when he was a member of "Face to Face".
I love it when the good folks win...

I have been amazed lately at the amount feedback coming Facebook from all over the country, and the interest in the early stuff. The early records seem to have staying power. I have to say that much of that had to do with Capitol shipping us off to Nashville in the very beginning to work with Norbert Putnam. I was a green kid then and knew nothing of Norbert's backround, but he put us in with a group of players that were nothing short of amazing, and Norbert was an incredibly gifted player, and producer. I got a world of an education tracking with Kenny Buttrey, David Briggs, Mike Utley, and a slew of others that were simply the best of the best when I was nothing but a kid.The early Quad was an amazingly creative environment during that period. The amount of great records that came out of there was pretty astounding. Some of the top records of the period, from Neil Young, to Jimmy Buffett, to Dan Fogelberg Alot of timeless music.One of my favorites was Dobie Gray's, "Drift Away" which was also done during the period we were cutting our first album.
We are trying to actively field all the info coming back regarding venues to get the band all the way across the country for this upcoming release, so by all means sign onto the mailing list and check back now and then.
Time is moving fast....

We're looking forward to the Iron Horse in Northhampton, MA. Feb. 6th. Come on out if you can make it. We'll be shovel ready. More dates are coming in across the country as the New Year progresses. I am more than anxious for all of you to hear the new one both on disc and live....

Jim Chapdelaine, Paul Socolow, Eric Parker, Darrell Scott, Gary Nicholson, Jonnell Mosser, Angelo, Sally Barris, Reese Wynans, Steve Mackey, Pat Buchanan, Tom Hambridge, Angela Kaset, John McDowell, and Jaime Kyle all put in solid work on this one. Over a year of heart and soul.
Anyway, we're working on getting to you asap.
We will announce here soon as we have word......

New Album Coming
February 26, 2009

PD is finishing up the new album now, his 9th album, with Jim Chapdelaine co-writing, mixing, and mastering. This powerful album features tracks produced by Gary Nicholson, and songs co-written with Angelo, Darrell Scott, Nicholson, Angela Kaset, Jaime Kyle, Jim Chapdelaine, Sally Barris, and some of his best solo compositions yet. Some of the musicians on the album are Reese Wynans, Pat Buchanan, Steve Mackey, Tom Hambridge, Eric Parker, Paul Socolow, Jim Chapdelaine, Jonell Mosser, Chris Pelcer, and John McDowell. The record was recorded at Jon's studio in NY, Gary Nicholson's studio in Nashville, and Chapdelaine's in CT.

" Jim and I just finished mixing the CD. I know this is the best work that I've done thus far. The band has never sounded better. Stay tuned here at the site, as we'll be making announcements as soon as we have a release date."

A lot of things have been happening in Jon's world lately - here's a litte update:

Jon recorded with Peter Ledermann from Direct Grace, a project created to combat child abuse and poverty. This was a live recording direct to vinyl - "a single, elegant, direct path from the microphone to the cutting head." Check back to hear more about it!

PD will perform multiple sets at the Rocky Mountain Audiofest in Colorado at the Soundsmith exhibit (Marriott Rm 442) with Ledermann. The new record has made a lot of progress. Recently Jon has had the chance to write with Gary Nicholson, Angela Kaset, Angelo, and Darrell Scott. More updates to come!
