ABC-TV Hit Series Lost Picks Jon Pousette-Dart Song
For Its Jan. 18Jukebox-in-the-Jungle Episode
LOS ANGELES -- ABC-TV’s hit series Lost will spotlight “Fall On Me,” a romantic song by rocker Jon Pousette-Dart in its Jan. 18 episode. The use of the song is part of a growing trend in such TV dramas as Lost and Cold Case to employ familiar music (instead of specially composed pieces) to instantly establish mood and time.
In this Lost episode, two of the survivors discover a jukebox on the mysterious island where their plane has crashed. As they marvel over this odd discovery, they push the button for “Fall On Me” and dance as the familiar lyrics stream out from the jukebox speakers:“If you’re gonna fall, fall on me/If you’re going down, hold onto me.”
“Fall On Me” was selected from The Best of Pousette-Dart Band and marks a resurgence of activity in Pousette-Dart’s respected and varied catalog.Sparking that resurgence was the recent release of Jon Pousette-Dart’s latest album, Heart and Soul, which features the popular and politically charged single, “My SUV.”
Pousette-Dart will perform at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah January 27 & 28.He is also set to host the “Songs From The South” series of live performances at the Triad club in Manhattan, beginning in February. And on Jan. 25, he will tape a live concert in Washington, D. C. for XM Satellite Radio’s The Loft.
